John Reynolds was may have been born about 1748 in Chester County, Pennsylvania, and may have been a son of William and Rachel Reynolds.  He may have been born in Chester County, Pennsylvania because he was residing there in 1795.

He married Edith Harvey.  She was born November 20, 1744 in Kennett, Chester County, and died January 12, 1790 in the same place.

His religion was Quaker.
