J. Marvin Hunter published the “Frontier Times” in Bandera, Texas for about thirty (30) years — from 1923 to 1954. He wanted to record historic events which would be valuable for historians, teachers, and writers.

It is an obscure publication that may provide genealogical and family information not available from any other source. Many issues contain first-hand accounts on life on the southwestern frontier.

These magazines are an excellent resource for searching family history.

We have indexed 235 issues.  One hundred twenty (120) were originally published in a hard cover book consisting of 394 pages.  It originally sold for $45.00.   A limited number of books are available for $25.00 plus postage.  A compact disc, including all indexed issues, will be included without charge with the purchase of the book.
